Like a rose folding its petals at the close of the day, Annie Laura Brimley, affectionately
known to family and friends as “Laura” departed this life on Friday, October 31, 2008 at
Halifax Regional Medical Center. She was 67, born on December 1, 1940 in Northampton
County to the late Helen and Oliver Brimley.
She as well known and enjoyed her life to the utmost. She always made time for her family
and friends. Her favorite past time activities included fishing, cooking, gardening, and
messing with her animal’s around the house
She leaves to cherish her memories, her kids: Denise Brimley of Raleigh, N.C., Earl Brimley
(Karen) of Wilmington, N.C., and David Brimley of Roxobel, N.C.; brothers, Oliver Brimley
of the home, Willie Brimley of Roxobel, N.C.; grandchildren, Micheal Brimley of Kuwait,
Latoya Brimley, Kazia Walker, Tywanda Walker of the home, Kirk Walker of Raleigh, N.C.,
Shakia Ward and Darris Brimley of Raleigh, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Dominique Brimley,
Briana Walker, Destiny NeSmith, Mikal Brimley, Nasy’a Ruffin and Jasmine Knappler, along
with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Walker; brother, James Brimley; sister, Irene
Robinson and Mary Brimley. We love you.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Friday, November 7, 2008 in the Chapel
of New Beginnings Funeral Service, Inc., Rich Square, N.C.
Services will be held Saturday, 1:00 PM, November 8, 2008 at Chapel Hill Baptist Church in
Rich Square, NC with the Rev. Tony Flood officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill
Baptist Church Cemetery. Services under the direction of New Beginning Funeral Home, Rich
Square, NC.
